Dear Patients and Friends,

As always, the health and safety of our patients, staff and community are in the forefront of our minds.

On March 16th, the American Dental Association (ADA) sent out a notice stating,

“In order for dentistry to do its part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the ADA recommends dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures for the next three weeks. Concentrating on emergency dental care will allow us to care for our emergency patients and alleviate the burden that dental emergencies would place on hospital emergency departments.”

Additionally, the Washington State Dental Association (WSDA) has notified all dentists in the state of Washington the Department of Health will issuing guidance to “postpone all elective, non-essential dental procedures.” Governor Inslee will be issuing an order with a time frame for postponement of all elective, non-emergent medical and dental care.

In light of these developments, Hiddenbrook Dental will be making some changes, effective Wednesday March 18th.

As far as we know, no one on our team, or in our patient population, is showing signs or has tested positive for COVID-19. However, in an effort to protect your health and the health of our staff, and to follow the recommendation of the ADA, and WSDA we have decided to temporarily close our practice to all elective and non-essential procedures. Our office will work to get hygiene and non-emergent appointments rescheduled. Dr. Sparrow will be available to take care of all dental related urgent concerns, and will be following the CDC’s guidelines for infection control during the COVID-19 outbreak.

At this time, Hiddenbrook Dental will evaluate reopening on, or around, April 8th. Reopening will depend on information, guidelines and recommendations provided by the CDC, the ADA, the WSDA and the Federal, State and Clark County Public Health Officials.

PLEASE NOTE: We will remain available to you and your family though out the next three weeks. Our office will be open to phone calls and emails from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Please call for any dental related questions, urgent concerns or any dental emergencies. After the hours of 3:00 pm, any patients with non-urgent/emergent questions or concerns can leave a message to be returned the next business day. An after-hours on-call number is provided on our recorded phone message and patients with urgent and emergent questions can leave a message to be returned by our on-call doctor.

At Hiddenbrook Dental, the health and safety of our patients and employees are top of mind amid concerns about the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). We are here to take care of all your oral health care needs, and we want to share information with you about how we continue to treat patients while continuing to operate safely and effectively. Our thoughts are with families experiencing coronavirus.

Steps we’re taking

Hiddenbrook Dental is monitoring information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and federal, state and local agencies to help ensure the actions we’re taking are in line with the latest CDC and American Dental Association recommendations and guidance. We are communicating regularly with our employees to keep them informed and to ensure their safety and that of our patients.

Hiddenbrook Dental currently has hand sanitizing stations available at our front desk, waiting room, and in the back office. Additionally, all of our restrooms are well stocked with hand soap for handwashing.

In compliance with WISHA, ADA and our professional industry standards, our operatories and equipment are cleaned and sanitized after every patient use. Our current cleaning standards are effective in sanitation, and leave our rooms and equipment safe for our staff and patients. Additionally, our office is cleaned nightly by a professional janitorial service. Furthermore, we are conducting enhanced cleaning as needed on frequently touched or high-volume surfaces such as, but not limited to, our computers, counters, and chair handles.

We have advised all staff members to stay home and contact their physician if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms or symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath.

Steps you can take

  • Wash your hands frequently. Soap and water are the preferred method. However, when soap and water are not available the CDC recommends a waterless sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.
  • Monitor your health. If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or fever with cough or shortness of breath, please stay home. We are happy to reschedule your appointment.

Our first priority remains keeping Hiddenbrook Dental patients and employees safe and well-informed while doing what we can to help minimize potential spread of the coronavirus.
